Nondrivers Alliance is a grassroots organizing project that taps into the power, expertise and passion of nondrivers to move our communities beyond car dependency.

For people who can grab their keys and go, transportation often isn’t a major concern. But for those of us who can’t drive or can’t afford to, transportation is something we think about daily.

A third of Washingtonians are nondrivers like us. We care about accessibility because it can make the difference between getting to do the things that connect us to our communities, like running errands, seeing a friend, or getting to an appointment — or being stuck at home and isolated. Nondrivers Alliance taps into this knowledge and dedication to push for communities where all of us can move.

Nondriver Action 501(c)(4)

We’re launching a 501(c)(4)! Nondrivers and disabled Washingtonians need a voice. Stay tuned for our 2026 general election endorsements.

Transit is Our Lifeline

We’re organizing nondrivers to fight for transit levies in Seattle, Spokane and Tacoma and pushing Sound Transit and our state legislature to keep building the high-frequency transit system we need!

Rainier Valley Transit Justice

We’re advocating for safer crossings at Judkins Park Station, asking our state to examine how highways create access barriers for nondrivers. We’re also organizing for scooting, biking and transit investments in Rainier Valley, including fighting to save Graham Street Station.

Disability/Mobility Learning Community

Contact us for an invitation to join Nondrivers Alliance disability community meeting and learning space. We are currently gathering monthly on Zoom for discussions with guest speakers from transportation, disability and access organizations.

Week Without Driving is growing the nondriver movement

Week Without Driving shines a light on that reality and invites everyone to experience, reflect, and share what life is like without driving. It’s a chance to understand daily life for the millions of people who cannot drive due to age, disability, income, or other barriers. It’s an opportunity to tell your story and help reimagine what transportation options could look like in your community.

Whether you’re a community member or elected leader, work at a transit agency or for a nonprofit, run a small buiness or coordinate a national coalition, there are lots of ways to join the movement!
